  • Awesome Dog-Friendly Restaurants in Denver

    by Andrew Borgschulte

Denver is certainly a dog-obsessed town and the abundance of dog-friendly restaurants in Denver proves this point. This list covers several different cuisines and areas of the city to give you a guide to the latest and greatest places that you and your pup can dine together.

    Denver Beer Co.

This local brewery offers delicious beer, a great patio and is very dog-friendly. In fact, dogs are allowed both on the patio and inside as long as they are leashed and well behaved.

With a beautiful outdoor beer garden, this is the perfect place to spend a summer day. Pooches can even sample a “Dog Beerscuit” made from the spent grain from the brewing process.

    Denver Bicycle Cafe

The owners of this cool cafe are close friends, and even slept in the same room as babies. They offer coffee, beer, and some light snacks and are of course dog friendly.

On top of all that, they offer bike sales, service and parts. If you love bikes, beer, coffee and dogs, you might never need to leave!

    Forest Room 5

This interesting spot has a full menu, trendy bar scene, and most importantly, a love for dogs. The patio, which reminds you of a campfire set up in the mountains, is a perfect place for your pup, just keep them away from the open flames!

Forest Room 5 is an intimate experience that is a center for music, art, film, and a place for great conversation and inspiration over dinner and drinks.

They are open at 4:00 pm Tuesday through Sunday until 2:00 am, but may close early on Sunday if business is slow. Their Happy Hour runs from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm and highlights some of their favorite small plates and cocktails at discounted prices.

    Ugly Dog Sports Cafe

Milk-Bones flow as freely as pitchers of Coors Light and your furry friends, big or small, can stretch out on the bare floors inside. They even have their own outdoor dog park for them to enjoy while Mom or Dad down another pint.

The big draw for dog owners is, of course, the dog park, as well as the great food, affordable drinks and nightly events such as karaoke, beer pong, and bar Olympics.

    The Watering Bowl

The Watering Bowl is part dog park and part tavern. “Your best friend’s bar” serves green chili, pizza, craft beer, and cider cocktails. The large, 7000+ sq ft outdoor dog park seating area is fully fenced and dog-friendly.

This place usually tops the list of dog-friendly restaurants in Denver offers a large outdoor area similar to Ugly Dog but claims to be the first dog-friendly tavern in Denver. They offer a “Yappy Hour” that runs Mon-Fri from 4-6pm with drink specials.

    Black Shirt Brewing Company

Black Shirt Brewing Co. was founded in 1999 and opened to the public in 2012. As the old adage goes, “good things take time.” Since their opening, they’ve collected many awards and accolades for the quality of their beer, ambiance, and customer service (you can check those out here).

Enjoy a pint or two of their famous red ales with your pup by your side. The porch or beer garden are both great spots for your furry friend.
