Capitol Hill was the birthplace of Barkly Pets in 2015. The quiet residential streets surrounding the Capitol and the booming neighborhoods of Eastern Market, H St NE, and NoMa are quickly becoming among the most dog-friendly neighborhoods in DC. Our Capitol Hill walkers love strolling through Stanton and Lincoln Parks along East Capitol. Capitol Hill also happens to be home to the Barkly Pets co-founders. When not working, we love hanging out at Union Market and other up and coming hotspots in the area.
Hi! I’m a GW student studying English and Art History. I’m super excited to be a part of Barkly and to meet DC’s cutest puppies! 🐶 My best furry friend is the family golden doodle Eden. When I’m not in school, I love to run and would be more than willing to bring an active dog along with me!
Hi, I'm Alex. I am a lover of all animals! Not only have I taken care of my own dog up, I also have walked professionally and done pet-sits. I have experience with dogs, large and small, and those with timid personalities all the way to those that can be aggressive. My favorite part of being a dog walker is seeing the dog's face light up when I open the front door.
Hi! My name is Nelly and I'm from Brooklyn. I live in SW DC now, and my Pom-Chi mix had to stay home in NYC so I miss him a lot. I work at a pharmacy during the week so my availability varies but I hope I get the chance to walk your dog! I've grown up with dogs and love them all but I feel more comfortable with smaller breeds. In the meantime, I'd be happy to walk and treat your dog like family!
