I have been a professional dog walker and pet sitter for over 4 years, and am comfortable with all sizes and breeds. I have confidence working with strong dogs who pull, as well as dogs with leash aggression or other triggers or fears. When you book me as your dog walker, you can expect completely individualized care and prompt communication, and I always go the extra mile to make sure your furry family member is happy and healthy. Post-walk pets/cuddles and a fill of a water bowl are standard, and I always accept special requests. During each walk, I'll find a safe time and place to snap a photo to send you so you can see for yourself what a great time your pup is having. We don't deserve d...See Profile

Breanne is super attentive to Lola and consistently tries to make each walk uniquely exciting for our dog. She also, today and other days, does a great job of looking after our dog's play area at home to make sure it stays clean and safe. We thorough...

Leo says, "I have the utmost respect for Krystal (but don't tell her). She is so "take-charge." This is most remarkable because I am a bit stubborn, and take immense pride in this. Krystal is not impressed. I really like her.

Penny M.

Thanks, Laurie - I'm glad you got to meet Remy. She had a blast on today's walk with you. I appreciate the excellent communication and timeliness! I'd love for you to walk Remy again some time soon. Thanks again!

Ryan R.

apologies for Leo's less than enthusiastic welcome. He is wary of strangers till he becomes familiar, a breed trait. I hope his behavior is acceptable from now on. many thanks. Leo and Meo

Thanks for the update on her coughing. She has been sick for a few weeks now. We are going to a new yet Monday to get a second opinion so any updates would be great

Hi Laurie! Awesome walk. I really appreciate your level of detail and communication. The photo was super cute. Remy appreciates you and all you do. Thanks again :)

Thanks for walking Harley. Please do give her fresh water and food each time, even if she has water and food. That way I know she gets fed two scoops in the day.

Sean D.

Sorry about that, not sure why there is nobody at the front desk. I will talk to the Management. Luckily, we are home this morning. Thank you as always Rahul!

Walter S.

Thank you Katie for taking such great care of Harley- we will miss you but hope to see you around and say hello! Best of luck to you with the new job.

Sean D.

Thank you so much! Please let me know if you ever have any questions! I know Sloan was probably very excitable and anxious. Thank you so much again!

Elizabeth W.

Thank you. Sorry for the mess. Jewel does that sometimes. Thank you for telling me. And my poor Bear licks the hair off his belly when we are away.

Katie D.

I admit I was worried being that my dogs had never met this walker, but he did great and I would love to have him walk them again!

Elizabeth W.

Mikaela is amazing- Nanook took to her quickly and she was super sweet and patient with my skittish little pup. Thank you!!!!

Catie E.

Thank you for letting me know about the walk, I'll add some notes about the things that might make Orli nervous on walks.

Martin R.

Thanks Alex! We really appreciate the walk you gave Remy today. She's so much fun and we're glad you got to see her!!!

Ryan R.

Thanks Alaina. I'm glad Remy enjoyed her walk. So you know Remy is a female pup, not a male. I appreciate your help!

Ryan R.

Thanks! Great reports. She only needs the booties if there is salt out - I appreciate you using them when needed.

Sean D.

Thanks Isabelle. We appreciate the notes and photo! Glad everything went well. Much appreciated for all you do!

Common Questions

  • How can I book a walk in Washington DC?

Download our app or create an account from our website. Once logged in, select "Book a Walk." Add in the dates you need on the next screen and select the duration and time you'd like us to arrive. Select or add the pet's you'd like us to walk on the next screen, and add in any important tasks you'd like for your walker to complete. It's as simple as that!

  • Can I meet a walker before booking with them?

Yes! All our meet and greets are complementary and free of charge. You can browse through profiles and read our walker bios by tapping on "See Local Caretakers" on the homescreen. When you find a walker who seems like a good match, you will request a Meet and Greet with them to set up a time for a meeting. You can also opt to have us match you with a professional walker. Walkers will start reaching out to you as early as the same day you request the Meet and Greet.

  • What are the prices for dog walks in Washington DC?

Our dog walkers set their own prices for 30 minute and 60 minute walks. Browse their profiles in the app or on our website to find the walker with the right experience and rates for you and your dog.

  • Can I have the same walker each time I book?

We believe the best experience for your dog is a consistent walker, and when you book with Barkly, you will book with the same walker. If that walker is unavailable, you’ll have the option to cancel the walk or request that we send a backup walker.

  • Do I get to see the route my walker takes on the walk?

You will be able to track each walk route in the app so you know precisely where your dog was walked. All visits are also followed up with detailed notes and pictures from the walker, so you know exactly how each visit went. Additionally, we offer 24/7 live customer support, so if you ever need anything, we are always here happy to help!
