My friends call me LB! I grew up in West Virginia with a few mix breed dogs throughout my childhood. My dogs were, without a doubt, my first best friend. Not only were they my best friends but they motivated me to have my 2nd job which was walking dogs (delivering newspapers was my first!). I’ve been walking with Barkley here and there for a couple of years. As a result of covid-19 I have a lot more time on my hands and I’m looking to meet YOUR furry friend and take them for a walk.See Profile
Hi! My name is Heather and I am a 25 year old woman that has been working as a Professional Pet Care Provider for years now. I grew up on a farm in Powhatan, Va with all kinds of animals but most importantly I grew up with 7 dogs (big & small) and 3 cats. I love all dogs & cats and am very confident around them. I treat all animals as if they are my own and I will go out of my way to make sure you and your pets feel safe and happy in my care :) I’m trustworthy and can accommodate whatever your needs are for your dog’s walk or your kitty’s care! I am very reliable and I have a very flexible schedule. This is not only a job to me as it is something that I love and am very passionate about! I h...See Profile
Hi there! I'm a student at Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!) and majoring in Wildlife Conservation. I've always had a passion for the welfare of all animals, and I want to ensure that your family member gets the best care possible. Some previous experience of mine is that I've had 5 dogs of my own throughout my life, and have volunteered at adoption events for both cats and dogs.Let's get to know each other, and I promise I don't bite!If you are satisfied and happy with my care, feel free to let others know and to use my code: walk0385mic (gets you $50 in credit for walks!)See Profile

Sarah was fantastic because she went above & beyond what was asked if her. I realized I forgot to turn my crockpot on & she was kind enough to save my dinner by turning it on for me. And I know Scarlwt loved her walk based on the route!
Thank you so much for taking such good care of him last week and today. And for bringing up the packages too! We really appreciate the great updates and knowing he has someone he clearly likes who takes good care of him too!
Thank you for going back too. He will do that now and then and I usually go back and check on him and get him to go on his bed and lay down and tell him to “be good”.
Thanks, Nate! We have a crate on order that should be here by Wednesday. We're going to give that a shot and see if we can correct his rampant peeing lately.
Thanks for letting us know about the leash. It happened for the first time last night, but we thought it was a fluke cause she was playing with another dog.
Thanks so much Morgan! I'm always excited when you take Nora out. She was so content when I got home yesterday; it made a huge difference in my day!
Thanks Morgan! I'm so glad Nora got to go out and enjoy the scenery. I miss her on these long days, but I'm happy to know she's getting some love!
My cat loves Katie. It is really comforting to know that I have her there when I can't be. She tells me what happened, and her time with Ellie.
Thanks Nate! He's still going #2 every morning and every evening so I'm not too concerned. He's likely just going through a rebellious phase ;)
Amazing service, punctual and attentive. She makes me feel very secure and safe that my babies are in the right hands. Highly recommended.
Reda is the best walker we've had through Barkly!!! Highly recommend her and hope she wants to walk our pup again soon!!! A++++++++++!
Thanks Danielle! I know Nora was excited to see you after I was unexpectedly out all day. Thanks for taking her out for a nice walk!
Thanks for being an awesome walker! Tuck can be tough to deal with and it sounds like you got him to do more activity than usual!
Thanks so much for walking Nora! I know she loves having a break during the day and it's such a relief to know she's having fun.
Tuck is tough at first but he farther you can get him away from the building along the river walk, the more relaxed he gets.
Clarice has been awesome!! Whenever I have Athena here again she will be the first person I notify!! Thanks for everything!
Thanks for being so adventurous with Tuck! It's paying off and he's really starting to come out of his shell!
Thank you so much Morgan! As always, both Honey and I appreciate you taking care of her while I'm away!
Yay, that's perfect! She looks so, SO happy! Thank you so much you've been an absolute lifesaver today
Thank you Pazi! I'm glad the worst seems to have passed. Thanks for taking such good care of my girl!

Select or add the pet's you'd like us to walk on the next screen, and add in any important tasks you'd like for your walker to complete. It's as simple as that!
Can I meet a walker before booking with them?
Yes! All our meet and greets are complementary and free of charge. You can browse through profiles and read our walker bios by tapping on "See Local Caretakers" on the homescreen. When you find a walker who seems like a good match, you will request a Meet and Greet with them to set up a time for a meeting. You can also opt to have us match you with a professional walker. Walkers will start reaching out to you as early as the same day you request the Meet and Greet.

Our dog walkers set their own prices for 30 minute and 60 minute walks. Browse their profiles in the app or on our website to find the walker with the right experience and rates for you and your dog.
Can I have the same walker each time I book?
We believe the best experience for your dog is a consistent walker, and when you book with Barkly, you will book with the same walker. If that walker is unavailable, you’ll have the option to cancel the walk or request that we send a backup walker.
Do I get to see the route my walker takes on the walk?
You will be able to track each walk route in the app so you know precisely where your dog was walked. All visits are also followed up with detailed notes and pictures from the walker, so you know exactly how each visit went. Additionally, we offer 24/7 live customer support, so if you ever need anything, we are always here happy to help!
